069 The TALE of the TWO FROGS

Two Frogs shared a beautiful road, but lived in very different homes. One enjoyed his days in a spacious, lush Pond, safely tucked away from Humans. The other Frog inhabited a Ditch with a small Stream running through it, close to the heavily traversed Road.

Tasting Notes
Warm, toasted wood chips and pine nuts bolster the aroma, while the mouthfeel is rich — cherry cordial with a smooth, velvety finish. Full of much more than the spicy pepper so common in Tempranillo, it's a unique experience for connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike.

Shell Creek, Last Frontier
Production Notes
55% Petite Syrah, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon
Other Notes
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah from two of our favorite guys in the vineyard business, who happen to be neighbors in the far reaches of Paso Robles (now known as the Paso Robles Highlands). The highlands is one of the new sub-AVAs, southeast of town, closer to Pozo than Paso. The Sinton Family has been farming Petite Sirah out there since the early ‘70s. The Boyers farm Cabernet one ridge over, on a new ranch planted in 2014. New Paso meets old Paso in the bottle, with dark and heady aromas of blackberry and fig, surrounded by warm and rustic vibes of old. Makes me want to eat a giant filet with fancy blue cheese melting on top — a sweeter and decadent blue cheese, like Jasper Hill Bayley Hazen.
